Brand Ambassador Babe of the Week: Abby Ventosa

Posted on 14 December 2016

Meet our Brand Ambassador Babe of the week, Abby Ventosa! Abby is a Junior at Penn State University where she is majoring in Public Relations with minors in Business and Sociology. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she serves on the PR and Recruitment committees. Abby joined our team this semester and has since hosted two successful trunk shows, reaching $1850 in sales and raising $277 for THON, the largest student-run philanthropic organization in the U.S. We love Abby's creativity and confidence in herself and are proud to honor her as our Brand Ambassador of the week!

What are three traits you admire most in others?

Kindness, honesty and being easy-going.

What do you love most about Penn State?

I was first attracted to the school because of the amazing school spirit everyone on campus and the alumni continuously show! I also love that because it’s so big it’s really diverse and there’s something for everyone. Lastly, I love my sorority. The girls are the best people I’ve ever met! - the ice cream from the creamery is definitely tied for third place, too.

What did you want to be when you were a little girl?

I called myself Abigail for years, but now I actually have an irrational fear of blood and could never imagine doing anything medical!

What are you most proud of about yourself?

I’m really comfortable in my own skin!

Tell us about THON and why its important to Penn State

THON is the largest student-run philanthropic organization in the nation. Penn State students are committed to a year-long effort of enhancing the lives of children and families affected by pediatric cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $137 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. Every February, 15,000+ students gather for a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon to raise money. THON is so important to Penn State because I think it really shows the type of student-body we have.

What inspires you?

My parents! They seem to always know the answer to everything.

What does "follow your bliss" mean to you?

Don’t let anything hold you back and go after what you believe in!

Where do you hope to see yourself after graduation?

Hopefully in New York City, or any big city, working for a PR firm!
