What do you love most about Philadelphia University?
I think the thing that I love most about Philly U is although it is a quaint campus it has such a big spirit. It’s not a large school but our students have accomplished so much and it is amazing to be apart of such a larger network than I ever realized. Because of the smaller size I’ve gotten more attention from professors and develop relationships with them and other girls within Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design. The programs the school has allowed me to take part in (Study Abroad in Rome, Fashion Immersion working with Isaac Mizrahi) have really shaped who I have become and set in the right direction for my future career. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to go to Philly U and meet the people I did, especially my roommates...I don’t know how I would have survived without them!

What are your favorite things to do in Philly?

I absolutely love being so close to Philly. My roommates and I adventure into the city all the time whether its running to the Art Museum (Rocky Steps), shopping on Chestnut Street at the dreamy Urban Outfitters and Free People window displays or for a fun night out with friends. There is seriously so much to do. The city offers so many delicious food places to try. A day for a foodie lover like me would include Sabrinas for Brunch, browsing Reading Terminal (which will please any of your food cravings) and then El Vez for dinner. Philly is most especially beautiful around Christmas time, it is all dressed in lights, pop-up shops set up in Love Park and there is an ice skating rink by city hall. It is magical!

What did you want to be when you were a little girl?

When I found out that being a mermaid wasn’t going to be a feasible career, my next best option was to be a news reporter (I think being a dentist came up at one point to). I absolutely loved the idea of being a weather girl and constantly practiced my daily weather report to my family. Although I didn’t think fashion would be future path it was quite obvious to others with my countless dress up shoes and hourly outfit changes that I might be headed in that direction.

What are you most proud of about yourself?

Something I am most proud of is being a recipient of the 2015 YMA Fashion Fund Scholarship award. The scholarship consisted of a case study about Birchbox in which I had to develop and create a new product line for the company. It was definitely one of the hardest projects I have had to complete but it was so rewarding. I fell in love with my idea and still talk about the experience to this day!

Whats your favorite quote and why?

One of my favorite quotes is from my Grandmom, “No Bad Days”. I try and rein this saying true everyday. It’s become my motto. I don’t think this means that you’re never going to have a bad day in your life, but I think it’s a reminder for us to find that one thing that’s going to change a bad day. When things are going wrong, I usually step back and say what is going to make this day turn around...sometimes it’s an ice cream cone! Its simple and short but it has a whole lot of meaning.

Why is the Sandy Rollman Foundation close to your heart?

The Sandy Rollman Foundation is a community that works together to promote awareness of ovarian cancer. “The foundation provides an outlet to fight for those who are fighting, speak for those who have fallen silent and provide for those who are working towards the end of ovarian cancer”. This foundation is close to my heart because it has affected a very important person in my life. My beautiful Aunt has been a true example of strength being an ovarian cancer survivor. She and all women battling ovarian cancer have shown my family and me what it means to be a fighter. This is not an easy battle. It is difficult to watch loved ones go through stages of the process but it something I will forever admire about her. I want to give back in some way to this foundation. I want to recognize the fight, the strength and the beauty within all these women especially my aunt and I think collaborating with eff.y.bee will be one way to do so.

What do you love most about being on the eff.y.bee team?

Being apart of the eff.y.bee team has been one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences and I am so happy to be apart of the story of such an inspiring company. I feel very lucky to have gained such an amazing mentor, Alyssa. She has already taught me so much about what it takes to drive and create a successful business. The energy, passion and enthusiasm just motivates me to want to do great things. One of my favorite things is being involved behind product development and helping with marketing the brand’s latest editions in cute and creative ways. I love how involved Alyssa gets you as a brand ambassador!

What does "follow your bliss" mean to you?

“Follow your bliss” immediately means to me, find and follow your happy. This experience with eff.y.bee has taught me to find my passion and what makes me happy and to follow it with my heart. It’s amazing how much of that comes through when you talk with Alyssa and she shares her journey with you. There is so much love that goes into each and every package or product and that is because someone found their passion and wanted to share it with others, its truly inspiring. Each and every one of these pieces of jewelry means something different and to someone they complete their story or it serves as a reminder to them about something. I love it and I am so happy to be apart of it.

Where do you hope to see yourself after graduation?

After graduation I hope to still be living around Philly and continuing to explore the city. I also hope to continue to travel and experience as many other cities and countries as I am able to. I am very grateful to have accepted an Assistant buyer position starting after graduation. I am so excited to get started on my journey!
